10.09.97 HOBART (PORT HUON), TAS 2230hrs (CE1)

It was school holidays and P of Port Huon had her friend over for the night. They were sleeping that night in the lounge room but having a talk first whilst lying down. It was then that P noticed a big light, large enough to have a boomerang type shape to it. The boomerang was multi coloured, being at various times, blue, yellow, green, and red. P and her friend were both amazed and scared, especially when P's friend pointed out a similar boomerang light close by in the sky. The first light let off a trail of sparks from the left side, they went downwards but faded out. The lights made sudden movements, moving around in an anti-clockwise movement, going up to the left and right, then dropping down again. The two friends watched the lights for some time before picking up courage to race through to call P's mother to come and have a "look".

P's mother reported the girls were excited and wide eyed. She went to the lounge at once but there was no sign of the boomerang lights.

A bright white round light about 2 metres in diameter and made of a transparent type fabric which appeared to be lit by a fluorescent light and having little round red lights around the top. It moved away in a southerly direction and passed directly over the house. No sound.

A bright orange light about the size of a 'dinner plate'. At first, hovering then moved downward slowly then disappeared to the Southwest.

Appearance of a bright star, flying toward the Sun and disappeared in 10 seconds.

A 'frosty white' disc with portholes, moving slowly to the south without sound.

An orange light was observed travelling in a semi circle fashion towards the north-northwest over Belmont. The UFO didn't appear to be travelling very fast. It was described as looking like a bright streetlight, which pulsated slowly throughout its travels. Robert Frola UFOICQ

22.09.97 HOBART (BRONTE LAGOON), TAS MIDNIGHT (NL)

The first from Bronte Lagoon on September 22nd was of several lights in V formation that would change configuration into a line. The lights seen about midnight were in the eastern sky.

Soon after on September 25th a report came from Reedy Marsh of a bright light hovering over a home, witnesses at differing locations are reported as watching the light move off to the south.

A flashing light alternating between a red and green colour. During observation another light moved from the left of the coloured light to underneath it, then moved around the coloured light. They moved off together in a southerly direction.

Two witnesses observed a black purple/grey round object streaking from South to North - doing figure eights as it flew.

Pilot Rob Hill and another person were flying Brisbane to Lismore in a helicopter, when they saw an unusual object, with three lights on it. These lights were evenly spaced along its side. The Pilot is quoted as saying: "It seemed to be flat and then it tilted like an aircraft banking and disappeared." Brisbane ATC advised no other traffic was in the area.

Two round black ball-shaped objects following an erratic flight pattern moving from North East to Northwest. They appeared to be doing aerobatics.
