DECEMBER 2001 FERNVALE, QLD 1800hrs (CE1 & MISSING TIME)

This sighting occurred while the witness was returning home from work to Fernvale. On arriving just out of Ipswich his wife contacted him by mobile phone to pick up some milk on his way home. He stopped at a small shop at 7.35pm, just this side of Brassall, fifteen minutes drive from his home in Fernvale. As he drove along he became aware of a bright light on the horizon. He said that usually he drives at around 100 kilometers per hour (60 mph) on this stretch of road, but found himself doing 135 kilometers (80 mph). As he drove on, the light became bigger as he got closer, it seemed to be stationery then as he got a little closer his immediate thought was, that it was someone on a motor bike. As he got closer still the colour seemed to change from the colour of a halogen light to the reddish/orange. This light went over his car and was about 45 degrees above the trees on the passenger side of the car, it seemed to keep abreast with him, so he sped up. It kept just ahead of his car. When I asked him how big this light was? He said, ‘if you stretched out your arm it would be about 8 inches in diameter,’ he would gauge the height it traveled was about 20 feet above the trees.

He contacted his wife by mobile phone and asked her to go outside and look in his direction at this object in the sky. She said that she watched it for about five minutes before it flew in a south west direction. Malcolm claims that he watched it for a good fifteen minutes. Malcolm had phoned me around 9:15pm to report the incident. I asked him was anything different regarding his car or clothes, skin etc. He asked me to wait while he checked out his car. Malcolm came back to the phone rather puzzled, he found a type of dust imbedded in his car on the passenger’s side, roof and the front of the bonnet also around the trim on the doors-when he shined a large spotlight on the paint work he found that the colours were imbedded into paint work of the car - like a brown, creamy colour and other colours seemed to glitter. When he ran his hand over the paint work he found that the dust particles felt like find sand paper. I asked him to scrape off some of the residue so that we can have it examined. On questioning Malcolm - it would appear a time distortion (lapse) had taken place. Usually it only takes him about 15 minutes to reach home from Brassall, the time he arrived home at 8:50pm. It would appear that he had an hour of lost time. Malcolm has been a truck driver for many years. Up until now has never had any interest in or taken notice of UFO’s. A pretty down to earth chap. Michael M. of Kalgoorlie (Goldfields), WA, reported a shimmering, silver object going West to East at a steady rate. He described it as a sisalation square, like a panel off an aircraft, slightly curved. No appendages could be seen and no sound was heard.

This morning at 10:00am I was walking my dog in the Botanical gardens in South Yarra....All of a sudden something sparkling in the blue sky caught my attention....so of course I stopped to observe more closely...It was a brilliant shiny sphere twinkling like a star hovering in a patch of blue sky between a couple of fluffy white clouds...After a few minutes it very slowly moved into the clouds and disappeared....I sat on the grass and waited for it to come out of the cloud and about a couple of minutes later it appeared again moving very slowly backwards and forwards hopping from cloud to cloud then disappeared.This sphere was very similar in the way it moved to the ones in the video footage shot over London that I observed in England last year...This sighting lasted about ten minutes...It is interesting to note that just before this caught my eye I had been thinking about the "spheres" and wondered if they had been observed here in Australia. It`s as if I had my question answered immediately...I`m sure we have some kind of telepathic communication with them. June Miller (Independent Investigator)

07.12.01. BINALONG BAY 2330hrs

Two witnesses noticed from their bedroom window a bright light in the western sky. This Venus sized amber bright light had five points on it, the longest point being below. The witness opened the window expecting to hear a motor sound but all was silent. The light passes just west of their house before turning towards the south, gaining elevation and fading out of sight. The sighting lasted about 4 minutes. Keith Roberts TUFOIC

John was off to the beach to do some star gazing with his girl friend when he noticed 4 orange lights in the sky in formation.

Being an amateur astronomer he was paying paticular attention to the sky and thought wow what’s this. At first he thought it was planes doing a formation but he could not hear any sound. He said he paid paticular attention to hear sound as they passed by but there was nothing.

He noticed other people had stopped to have a look as well but did not talk to any of them other than his girl friend. He said as the object passed by some 2km away one of the objects dropped from the formation down and dissapeared. I asked him if he thought it could have been the garbage bag hoax reply no way far to big moving far to fast.

He rang the News paper in the morning The West Australian who said they are keen to do a story on the objects as this was the first time these things had been seen.

Frank described the formation more like a box kite shape however the objects did the same as John said they did.

Not one person to-date has taken any photos of the objects it is going to be interesting to see what the newspaper story reveals. I informed both witnesses if we find out in the meantime what the objects are we would inform them.

The local Science writer for the Newspaper said 3 satellites were due to re-enter the earth atmosphere but over the Indian Ocean can anyone confirm this please? Diane Harrison AUFORN

V strolled into his back yard that evening to admire the night sky. It was well before the fires around Sydney, therefore the skies were reasonably clear. Suddenly V noticed a brilliant orange light travelling overhead, quite slowly. He described its manoeuvring characteristics Œlike a wriggly worm, skinny and then fat as it moved&Mac226;. The unknown was heading form east to west towards Palm Beach. V quickly obtained a pair of binoculars from his wife who was standing beside him during the sighting. He said that there were no conventional aircrafts in sight during the event. V estimated the height close to an Œoverpassing jumbo&Mac226; (500-1000m) and the speed relatively slower than that of an airliner. The couple observed the unknown around 7 or 10 minutes before disappearing over their line of sight. There was no noise associated with the anomaly. 18.12.01 JARRAHDALE (KARNET), WA 2315-2330hrs (NL)

The witness’s attention was first drawn by his dog which was acting very excited or agitated. The witness noticed a movement in the sky and looking up saw a huge dark shadow only 200 feet [60 metres] up blocking out the stars. He calculated it to be 30 metres across. It was shaped like a stealth bomber but did not have the steps cut out of the wing’s trailing edges. It was moving silently and slowly South-East before turning South. Prior to this sighting, he and a group of other people counted eighteen satellites between 8pm and 9.30pm, which in itself is an unusually high number.

19.12.01 PEPPERMINT GROVE (NORTH RIVERBANK), WA 2010hrs (NL)

The witness, Rod, out walking his dog, watched a white light like a satellite come in from the East directly overhead. Unlike a satellite, the object zig-zagged to the North-West, performed a curve Westwards before changing course yet again as it headed South-West to be lost to view.

20.12.01 OLD BAR, NSW 2230hrs

Cheryl lives on an acreage at Old Bar ( North Coast ) and while watching the sky at 10.30pm she noticed along with her son a bright light crossing the sky from north to south. The object was pulsating and changed to orange in colour at times. After a while it started to move up and down and appeared to move around a smaller object ( the size of a star ). It then continued on south and diappeared from sight. There was no sound and it was moving quite fast.

Cheryl was so fascinated by the event she stayed outside another two hours with both her children. They noticed several star like objects move across the sky but in different directions.

She will be keeping vigil as often as possible and will inform us of any more sightings. Veronica Moore INFODIG

27.12.01 BELCONNEN (SCULLIN), ACT Afternoon (DO)

On December 27, 2001, a woman living in the Australian Capital Territory (A.C.T.) spotted two UFOs over Belconnen, which is reputed to be the site of a large NATO underground base.

A. Babbidge reported, “I was having an afternoon nap in the lounge room when I was woken to the sound of an aeroplane circling round near where I live. The plane sounded as if it were an air force (Royal Australian Air Force, RAAF) or army plane such as a Hercules. By the time I got outside, the plane had moved out of sight but I could still hear it.”

“I searched the sky for a bit when suddenly I saw, almost above me, a white-silver-grey round object with what looked like small wings or a Saturn shape. It was cruising along much higher than the planes that regularly fly across here. It was steady at all times and made no sound.”

“Twenty seconds later, another object--exactly the same-- appeared. The two objects continued in the same direction (east) the same distance apart till I could not see them any more. It looked like they turned very slightly, and it looked like they had two silver headlights.” “It took the objects about 50 to 60 seconds” to go west-to-east from horizon to horizon, she added, “And they never changed their position, although initially the second object moved up behind the first object very fast.” Ms. Babbidge described the UFOs as “a round Saturn shape with small wing-like protrusions in the middle on each side. They were definitely not in the shape of a plane. It was a clear blue sky and one of the gustiest, windiest days in the (Belconnen) area.”

A prison officer from Karnet reported three lights flying in a triangular formation from South to North. The two front lights were white and the third orange. On reaching the vicinity of Orion’s Belt they split up. One white light headed West, one North-East and the third (orange) one went straight on North.

Paul was outside when he saw three orange lights in a triangular formation in the sky. There was no associated sound. The lights were round with "blurred" edges. The lights went out one after the other. Duration: 20 seconds. Keith Basterfield (Independent Investigator)
