2003 CLONCURRY, QLD EARLY EVENING (MIN MIN LIGHTS)

Karen & David Sheffield at Cloncurry drove out to the water supply dam at Cloncurry at night, parked in the parking area looking over the water, though nothing was visible in the inky blackness.

Suddenly what looked like a campfire lit up in front of them & David who had not been to the site before said ?let’s go over & say hello to the campers?, to which Karen replied ?there can be no campers where that fire is burning because it is in the middle of the dam?. David replied ?it cannot be over the water because there is no reflection in the water.? Karen countered that if it was a campfire why is it not illuminating the surrounding bushes, trees, people, etc.? They called out anyway but there was no reply & the fire flickered out then lit up again eventually to fade. They visited the next day & sure enough they estimated that the fire-like object was directly above the water surface Previously I had talked to a couple of people who had experienced the light though the records are buried away in my files but the first was from a tour operator driving a bus at night & who observed a light as if from some vehicle approaching the road they were driving on coming at right angles to the left, crossed the road a short distance ahead & continued away to the left.

The driver naturally thought that he was approaching an intersection & that a vehicle of some sort had crossed it on a road that cut across the main road that he was on but as he approached the locality he was surprised to find nothing but undistubed bushland with no tracks or road & so concluded that he had observed a Min Min light. The second report was from 2 people camped on the side of a waterway & observed what appeared to be someone approaching the water on the other side of the waterway with a keroscene lantern & which then moved about a metre high along the water’s edge.

The campers yelled out a friendly greeting & were surprised to receive no answer & then suddenly realised that there was no reflection on the water or on the bushes from the light & realised that it was some bizzare light phenomenon that then perfectly retraced its path & vanished. Gary Opit

According to Roger, an incident which occurred around 3 years ago so richly bizarre that even though he had called National security some 22 times in order to report its nature, he is still dumbfounded to find that no one takes him seriously! The caller lives in the Newcastle to Williamstown area, close to the dividing ranges. One night, he observed a craft that he estimates could only have been about 50 metres away, low to t he ground. The time of this sighting was around 6:30 pm. Roger states that the device, whatever it was, “measured about 15 feet long and was kind of football shaped; like a dome from a mosque with what looked like 3 portholes”. Hovering just above the trees, the object made no noise and moved rapidly away.

Some months later, living on a property with full 360 degree viewing, an object “lit the room up! Windows were shaking” but that there was no noise to speak of. Many people have confided in Roger of having the same sorts of sightings in the General are, but that none have come forward. Roger has lived in this area for some 20 years and until 3 years ago, had seen nothing. Roger’s homestead lays West of Kempsey. Number of witnesses: 1. Dominic McNamara AUFORN NSW

At 6.45pm on 03.01.03, Peter and his family who live in Alex Hills Qld, noticed a red flame in the sky. Travelling from East (bay area) to West. Peter said it was too slow for an aircraft and too fast for a weather balloon or hot air balloon. There was no noise. It seemed to be going in a straight line about the height of an aircraft, he said the size would have been about the size of a 10 cent piece. They watched it for about 3 minutes until it went out of sight, still heading west. They said that they were unable to see anything but a red flame in a estimated round shape.

NOTE: George Simpson AUFORN VIC has had 2 independent reports of a similar kind in Victoria in the Western suburbs of Melbourne in the last 10 or so months. People saw a flame travelling along, silent like a large candle flame. The police watched it too. Jan Stone AUFORN QLD

At about 8pm on 01.01.02 Steve and his family were in their garden looking at the Northern Sky when they saw coming towards them heading South a strange object, Steve said it was hard to explain, but it was glowing orange and looked like a sort of insect shape with two tails. He said the object was very thin, stick like and the whole object was glowing orange. He explained that as it came towards them it got brighter then as it arrived overhead, it went straight up in the sky and flashed a few times and just disappeared. He said he went to get a video of it, but by the time he got the video and put it on, it was almost out of sight and you could only make out a small glow on it which looked like a star. Size: About two or three times that of a star. Speed: approximately t the speed of an aircraft. There was no noise and the height to start with, was about the same as a commercial aircraft. 03.01.03 MONARTO (nr.MURRAY BRIDGE), SA 2230-2300hrs (NL)
(Source: 1800 Freecall National Hotline Number - Callin Code: 2795)
Duration:
Approximately 40 seconds to traverse entire 180o
Object: Star like bright light, slightly larger than the regular satellite
Movement: Straight line but very fast unlike a satellite
Trajectory: Very high and straight across the night sky with NO deviation
Conditions: Clear, warm night. No light pollution (country area) very clear view of the night sky. No cloud.
Witnesses: 4

Rebecca, aged 36, had just returned home from nightshift and spoke to her husband regarding something that had "spooked" her horses earlier that night. Nothing was found. They went outside for a cigarette and looked up when they noticed a fast moving object on the horizon. It was travelling reasonably quickly in a straight line so they assumed it was a satellite. But Rebecca’s husband is an ex aircraft engineer and they often see satellites from their property. They thought this one was different because it was larger, like a bright star, moved quicker and was not the same as their numerous other satellite sightings. Debbie Payne AUFORN SA

03.01.03 SYDNEY (BRIGHTON LE SANDS), NSW 2155hrs (NL)
(Source: UFORNSW Online Report Form)
Sighting duration:
five minutes
Description: they looked exactly like stars except for when the second one shone it’s light
Other witnesses: Isabella and Cathy
Apparent size: star
Actual size: They were as high as the stars so it is hard to tell
Object origin: We were looking at Botany Bay and they moved from right to left
Effects psychological: All of us were completely shocked

I was fishing at Brighton Le Sands in Sydney with my girlfriend, my cousin and his wife when my girlfriend noticed what she thought was a shooting star. I told her I didn’t think it was a star because it was moving slower than a shooting star but faster than an aeroplane but I knew there was no chance it was a plane because of the height it was at. Then we saw a second one following the path of the first probably only a few seconds behind but this one slowed down and looked like it turned towards us and let out this very bright white light. Then it turned around and kept going. By this time the first one was way ahead.

We didn’t know which one to keep our eyes on. I was focused on the second one because of the light that it shone. It was brighter than any star I have ever seen. Then as it was moving through the sky it just disappeared. I tried to find the first one again but the others saw that one disappear as well. I don’t know what we saw up there but I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one to have seen it. Doug Moffett UFORNSW

06.01.03 ADELAIDE (SEACLIFF PARK), SA 2230-2300hrs (NL)
(Source: 1800 Freecall National Hotline Number - Callin Code: 2802)
Duration: Approximately a few minutes (couple of minutes lost looking for it.)
Object: Bright strobing light, bigger than a star and very bright.
Movement: Going west across the sky then disappeared only to reappear seconds later going North East, then did a 180o flip and went west. All these manoeuvres happened within seconds. No noise.
Trajectory: Not as high as a satellite blinked in and out of view while it changed direction, each movement lasted 4 to 5 seconds, then it disappeared only to reappear seconds later travelling in a different direction
Conditions: Clear

Gary, a 39 year old pilot, was out watching the stars as he sometimes does and had noted at least 11 satellites in the last hour when he noticed a bright flashing strobe light. He watched it travel in one direction for 4 to 5 seconds and then he glanced away and it was gone. A few seconds later it reappeared travelling in a different direction. He thought that considering the height and speed, an aircraft could not change direction like that in 8 seconds. He lost it again for a moment and it reappeared suddenly having negotiated another turn, this time of 180o . He watched it go behind some trees and shortly after it blinked out. It was too high and too fast for an aircraft and had no "nav" lights. Gary is a Pilot. Debbie Payne AUFORN SA

Object: Very bright white light larger than the brightest star
Movement: Stationery
Trajectory: Static, low on horizon east of southern cross
Conditions: Clear, before dawn

Tim, a 35 year old Security Guard was driving home from night shift when he noticed a particularly large, bright white star. Having done night shift for a long time he had not seen this star before and has not seen it since. He felt that if it was a star then it should have been there the next night. The star was larger and brighter than Venus, in fact he stated several times he had never seen a star so bright and he had done night shift for a long time. He watched it until dawn.

Interesting note: He reported the object at 4.15 in the morning. It was still dark and Adelaide Airport has a curfew from 11.00pm until 6.00am, being in a residential area. Around 40 minutes after his call to the hotline, a jet was seen (5.00am) in the area of the "star", followed about 30 minutes later (5.30am) by another jet. Reportee says they were not passenger aircraft but more like military jets. Debbie Payne AUFORN SA

On Monday, January 13, 2003, at 11:10 p.m., two people spotted a trio of red-orange UFOs over Sydney.

Paul Van Komen, who lives in the suburbs west of Sydney’s Central Business District, reported, "Dominika went outside to move the garden sprinkler. Walking back, she looked up to absorb a clear view of the Moon and Orion’s Belt in a gap in the clouds when she noticed three spheres below the clouds to the east of us and called out to me."

"I joined her outside," Paul added, "it was immediately apparent that this was not normal air traffic. They glowed orange-red, made no sound and traveled slowly in a westerly direction."

"The first sphere was larger and maintained a steady speed and luminosity. The other two stopped occasionally and dimmed and brightened. They took a couple of minutes to get about 10 kilometers [6 miles) west of us, then faded and disappeared. They were several times larger than airplanes. Normal air traffic was absent for another half-hour after."

Paul estimated the UFOs’ speed as "about 100 kilometers per hour".

This woman did not have a UFO to report, but rather wanted someone to talk to about strange incidents with her daughter (4 years old) and the “frogmen”.

Julie T is speaking on behalf of a friend called Axxx aged 40. Axxxx is unable to relay her story as she has a speech impediment.

Julie called mainly to report an unusual occurrence with her friend Axxx’s daughter.

Rxxx is 4 years old and declared to her mother and friend last week that the frog men came and visited her again.

When the adults asked her to explain the child said, the frogmen (3) came through her window in a mist and saw her again. They have big eyes and frog skin. They poke her arms, legs and belly. She tries to wake her mother who sleeps in the bed with her, but she does not wake up. The dog on the floor makes no sound or movement.

When questioned about this turn of events the mother said she heard noises, the bushes outside the window were “rustling” and the dog was unusually quiet, but that she was paralyzed and had no other recollection of events that night.

The women examined the area around the window and found a scorch mark on the lawn (brown mark) and foliage on the trees had been burnt.

Recently Axxx (mother) had a TB X-ray. The doctor found a small white square, embedded in the tissue between her armpit and breast. Although he thought this unusual and Axxx had no memory of trauma to this area, the doctor assured her it was nothing to worry about. Debbie Payne AUFORN SA

Duration of sighting:
15-20 seconds
Lights colour: no lights
Apparent size: large star
Shape: Star
Noise: No
Objects observed: 1
Activity when see: outside in her backyard
Other witnesses: 1 Tony
Name: Connie

Connie was outside in her backyard late afternoon early evening when she noticed two bright stars. A third one appeared but was moving towards the east. She watched the object for around 20 seconds until it disappeared over the horizon. She did not think it was an aircraft, because it was too high, but she also has her doubts it was a satellite Connie is familiar with satellites and thought this one was slightly larger and on a different heading. Trajectory: Heading easterly at 70o but on an angle heading downward towards horizon Conditions: Clear and still light. The 2 brightest stars were just becoming visible when this object was sighted. Reportee is familiar with satellites and thought this one was slightly larger and on a different heading. Connie felt it was too low to be in space and too high for an aircraft. I asked her to look again at the same time for a few days to see if she catches another glimpse of this object. Then I think we can put it down to a satellite (I think that is probably what she saw).
