“I stepped out the back door to feed the dog when a light in the southeast caught my attention. As we have a lot of really good light shows here I thought, ‘Great another one to watch’. We live near the theme park, Dreamworld, and are very used to seeing light shows. At first the light appeared to do a figure eight then it started to travel along like a passenger jet at about the same height. The colour of this light was a light orange, not the same as aircraft. It was approximately twenty kilometres away. It’s hard to tell at night so this is a quesstimate. Travelling from the south, it was heading to the north-northwest. I called to my flatmate, Kerryann, to have a look at this. She came to the back door and saw it. She asked me what happened and I told her. Together we watched it travelling along at the same speed as a passenger jet. A plane was heading towards it from the north at what seemed to be a higher altitude. They passed without incident and the plane kept going on in the same direction. The light appeared to be over the Ipswich area in the northwest, when it dipped slightly and blacked out. That was the last time it was seen.”

Or so he thought. Curiosity got the better of him and he had another look around an hour later at 10.35 pm that night. Kerryann had gone to bed. In the same direction he saw the same coloured light but this one was blinking on and off. It appeared to be travelling in the same direction as the light in the first sighting but a bit higher and a bit further away. It also disappeared over the Ipswich area. Scott concludes: “These two sightings could have been RAAF as the Amberley Air Base is in that area, but hey, I just don’t know.”

On 8 August 2005, Brendon heard a droning noise as he was going to bed around 3 am. From the verandah at his home in Greenslopes, Brisbane, he saw a lightning-type light reflecting from behind his house. The noise ceased after two minutes, then a small sparkler-type of light floated to the ground. Straight after this he saw coloured lights and he photographed them on a 38 mm Kodak camera (2740 series 10 x 200 m). It was about mid sky height in the southeast, travelling upwards. Brendon and his wife watched the lights for at least fifteen minutes. Camera used: Cannon, photo specs 5 pix f 3.7 ISO 80. Robert Frola AUFORN & Daniel Sims AUFORN QLD

On 25 August 2005, Greg suffered a break-in and robbery at his home in Theresa Park. About two weeks before the robbery, at 4.00 am in the morning, Greg observed a light hovering in the sky between the trees. It was 10 to 15-degrees above the eastern horizon. It was a bright white light which hovered for approximately one hour. He rang his brother, who lives in Kearns, and discovered that his brother had also seen this object. The light suddenly took off in a northeasterly direction, gaining altitude until it disappeared out of view. His sighting and the eventual robbery were a traumatic experience for Greg. He feels this was an awakening for him. He has become a very perceptive person, not only with people, but also the environment around him; something that we noticed whilst we were talking.

There were many anecdotal things mentioned which had previously escaped a man with his head in his work. Such things as noticing the changes in tree growth and even the shapes they cast. Something else; Greg declared that some trees on the property had, in a very short time since the sighting, become outrageously healthy and thicker, whilst others had dwindled and died.

A week after the robbery, Greg started seeing bright lights in the sky. Generally there were three. Both Greg and his son saw these objects as they followed them whilst driving. Greg actually managed to videotape and photograph some of these lights. They were definitely being followed. Greg would also hear footsteps around the property and would try to chase shadows and would-be intruders, but none were ever found. At about 11.30 pm one night, he noticed three silhouettes at the back of his property, and then at the front of the property behind the hedge. This time, he called 000. Nothing was found. The next night, lying in bed, he heard his lawn mower start up, but found no one when he raced out to investigate. But the mower was happily idling away!

Late in September or early October 2005, his son woke him up because he heard something on the roof. Once again, Greg raced outside but this time actually saw a shadow jump off the roof and run off. Sometime after the robbery, his cars were found and returned. At one time, he had to open the bonnet of the utility in order to check and replace the battery. During that episode, Greg clearly felt something or someone brush past him several times. But each time he looked, he saw nothing. Coming on sunset, Greg started getting strange feelings and became more aware but not paranoid.

Although he lives and drives in remote rural areas, where local road traffic is sparse at the best of times, now suddenly there was always a car or two around during strange event days. He would notice cars hanging around near the property. Cars stopped on corners when he left the property and where he worked. Greg took down a number of licence plate details and presented them to police. One night, as he drove out of the property, he saw what he thought was a torch light shining out of one of the trees. When driving home, he saw that this same lighting was there but in a different position. After this incident, the next day would find that two of his three goats were dead in the area of the light and the third had disappeared. It was time for paranoia and the purchase of a bug detector for the house. RACE investigators took electronic measurements and recorded results from this area. One night during this period, six huge trucks, completely unmarked, drove past in an end-to-end convoy and headed up into the Blue Mountains. This had never been seen before. The night before RACE investigators arrived, about 12 helicopters, blue and red lights flashing, and making no sound, flew in two groups of six. That is, of course, if they were helicopters. Greg went on to describe that on the nights when the lights would follow him, these craft, whatever they were, would silently keep pace. Larraine Cilia AUFORN NSW

12.08.05 SYDNEY (CAMPBELLTOWN), NSW 2000hrs
On 12 August 2005 in the Campbelltown area, Craig was watching the clear sky around 8.00 pm when in the northeast towards the airport he noticed an orange light manoeuvring in a ‘different fashion to a commercial aircraft’. He described its size as that of two matchheads held at arm’s length. It was 45-degrees above the horizon and sitting in a 12 o’clock position. As he watched, a second light came into view underneath it and paused in the 6 o’clock position. Immediately a third light appeared and positioned itself at the 3 o’clock position, forming a perfect triangle. Craig said he could fit his outstretched hand inside the triangle between the objects. They sat pulsating in that position for about a minute and a half, growing brighter and then dimming in sync. While he watched, three planes approached from three different directions and the three objects he had been watching suddenly blinked out and did not reappear. Craig described the colour of the lights as the colour of a candlewick when blown out. Larraine Cilia UFOSWS

12.08.05 BUST-ME-GALL HILL, TAS 2155hrs (CE1)
A lone motorist, travelling east on the Tasman Highway noticed some distance ahead, a number of lights which became obscured as he drove up a hill. Reaching the top of the hill he saw a stationary object 300 metres above the ground just to the side of the highway. The long thin object had a red light on the left and blue on the right. There was a white light shinning down beneath. The witness stopped and listened for a sound but all was quiet. He felt nervous and drove away from the area. Keith Roberts TUFOIC

On 25 August 2005, around 7.00 pm, after a heavy discussion about world events, Tim went outside for a smoke and saw a huge white light moving slowly above the Warby Ranges in a north-northeast direction, from his parents’ home in Wangaratta. He called to his family to come outside and see. The object was about three times the size of Venus at dusk and at first he thought it was the International Space Station as ‘its white silver light was intense’. It was low in the sky and moved away from the hills towards Wangandary. It stopped in mid air for five seconds or so then moved northeast a little. It moved up and down a few times in a soft gently bouncing fashion. It then grew in size and brightness, moving southwards towards the witnesses for about ten seconds. Then it reversed and headed northwards at the same height, becoming smaller and changing colour from orange to red to purple before becoming invisible. Nearby were a commercial jet and a smaller aircraft with flashing red lights. The witness thought that the smaller plane was travelling in the same direction as the object and was ‘possibly attempting to engage it’. The witness estimates that the path taken by the object included passing just east of the Kilawara Forest, over Pechalbar and just to the west of Rutherglen and Corowa.

His mother’s reaction was that ‘it was strange’ and his father was dumbfounded whilst his wife was disinterested. Tim, who has had other sightings, claimed a slight feeling of being connected and felt anxious and fearful of the future. Tim rang ABC Radio FM Melbourne and was put on air to tell his story.

Tim has a theory about the sighting.

“It was an extra-terrestrial scout study craft extracting energy from quartz deposits [and] possibly monitoring seismic history [for] future probabilities of changes [and] reactivation of fault areas on continents in relation to altered pressures from main faults off Indonesia and New Zealand areas. A sort of mapping program. Maybe they can get information from minor fault veins to get a more whole picture of what’s occurring at major faults and vice versa.” E-Mail Report 26.08.05

On 26 August 2005, around 2.00 pm, Joanne was looking at the sky from her backyard in Nowra, when she noticed two white objects moving across the sky in the southeast heading towards the north. One was oval and moving smoothly and the other appeared to be spinning or tumbling. The spinning object veered to the west while the other continued slowly to the north. Joanne ran inside to get her binoculars but for most of the time there was too much glare to look at the lights for more than a few seconds at a time. After about a minute, the smooth object came back directly above her, travelling south, and the spinning object returned to fly alongside the other. Not much detail was visible through the binoculars as the objects were so high but she could see that one appeared to be a smooth oval, glowing white and the other had no distinctive or consistent shape and appeared to alternate between glowing white and looking transparent. Joanne watched both objects move to the southeast and disappear behind a tree. The sighting lasted two to three minutes. E-Mail Report 01.10.05
