Around 10.00 pm on Saturday 4 February 2005, Troy, who lives at Raby, was out the front of his house to say goodbye to friends. He waved them off and then looked up into the southern sky. He was admiring the clear starry night when suddenly a bright orange light came into his view. It was travelling from the south and toward him, i.e. heading north. His initial impression was that it must be an aircraft of some sort. Or maybe a meteor or something, but it was moving too slowly. The object flickered and wavered in the sky and eventually changed direction from north to northwest. It made no noise at all and glided along on one level, neither gaining, nor losing altitude. The object was travelling about 20-degrees above the horizon and was eventually lost to the tree lines. The whole observation took five to six minutes. Having lived in the area for some twenty years and used to seeing aircraft on the flight paths, he knew this was something unusual. He has never made a report before. When asked as to whether he felt it could have been an orange garbage balloon inflated with a candle or something, he replied: “We used to muck about with that sort of thing ourselves so I know it was no such thing.” Troy was left with a feeling of amazement at what he had just seen. In late February 2005, John was in his back garden in North Ipswich glancing at the southeastern sky around 8.30 pm when he noticed three lights. They appeared to be from a plane as the rear light was flashing although they seemed stationary in the sky. The two larger lights, located as if at the wingtips, emitted about six lights each, with the smaller lights taking off at great speed in a northeastern direction. John could not be sure if the small lights became one light or if they looked to be one light because of their distance from him. After this display, only the flashing light was left. This light was seen for a few moments longer then went out. It was a clear moonless night. No sound could be heard from the lights.

Ben and three other people watched a black circular object for about fifteen minutes, from daylight to dusk, as it ‘hovered’ high above. Ben said it was too high to be a kite.

The object was similar to a parachute with four ‘things’ hanging beneath it like an octopus. The witnesses looked through binoculars at it. It moved only slightly. A plane flew past it while they watched. From their location they estimated the object to be somewhere over Port Melbourne or further away. The object then went off into the distance. It was about one kilometre or so high, but it was hard to judge. Through the binoculars it appeared to be the size of an apple pip. George Simpson AUFORN VIC

On Monday, 21st February, she retired to bed at 10.30pm and woke up through the night to an orangey flashing light. She looked at the clock and saw that it was 12.20am, she got up and walked outside and right above the treetops inside a cloud it looked like orange lights rotating really low and huge. She was totally stunned and could hear a droning noise like continuous crickets. She stood there for what seemed like only a few seconds in disbelief, then she ran inside for her video camera loaded the film and went back outside and aimed. By this time it had moved over the East horizon into the distance and was no more than a few inches long. She was filming between the trees and could see nothing through her viewfinder but kept filming until it disappeared. When she came back inside the clock was 4.20am. She went back to bed and awoke at 7.45am but the clock had stopped at 4.20am. She felt tired and dazed and ached all over and had symptoms like she had a cold which continued all day, she couldn’t think straight, was confused and bothered, she knew something had happened but didn’t know what. Whilst taking a shower she noticed a small scar on her waist, which was flaky and looked like a burn scar. She reported to me the following Friday night that whilst out with friends she became very vague and distant from the conversation and unconsciously started to draw strange symbols, her friends made a comment, are you alright, what’s wrong you look like your off with the fairies. She went home early and went to bed, the next morning she awoke with a nose bleed in her left nostril. When she checked her video recording from the Monday nights experience the tape was blank. She was very distressed. This report is still under investigation. Larraine Cilia UFORSWS

It was early evening when Ralph was looking towards the Dandenong Mountains. He saw a white light moving very slowly then it suddenly accelerated away at enormous speed. It had no blinking lights.
Ralph also reported another unusual sighting event from about twelve years ago.

He saw two hovering lights over Rye, which “suddenly shot off towards Frankston and continued north towards the City of Melbourne”. George Simpson AUFORN VIC
