On 1 October 2005, Agnes and five friends were driving down a dirt track from Lake Mungo to Mildura when around 8.30 pm they stopped to look at the amazingly clear starry sky. After about five minutes of stargazing they spotted an object moving very high and apparently very fast. Initially they thought it was man-made until it began to do strange manoeuvres, i.e. moving straight up, descending then moving upwards again. It also appeared to stop and hover. At the end it looked as if it was moving in their direction but it completely faded to darkness then lit up again, only to switch off finally at a lower position in the sky. After watching this for two minutes, the witnesses became scared and drove away. The object was seen in the east and moved westwards. It was a bright white or yellow light, slightly elliptical in shape. E-mail Report 02.10.05

Jodie was suffering from asthma and had no medication on hand, so she arranged to meet her friend Jenny at the back fence of the property to borrow a puffer. They both glanced back towards the house and saw, in a northeasterly direction, two lights in the distance dancing erratically over the hills. The lights moved extremely fast and crossed from one ridge to another ridge in one second, stopping suddenly and spinning on the spot. Jodie and Jenny thought the lights would collide, but then they repelled each other.Jenny thought the light beam was strange in that it appeared like the opposite of a spotlight, with the light beam shining upward appearing wider at the bottom and narrower at the top.Jenny had worked in the RAAF for many years and had never seen anything able to manoeuvre as quickly, and stop as suddenly, on one spot.

The objects were observed for 50 minutes and then they shot up into the atmosphere, did a 360-degree turn and then went spinning in the opposite direction heading out towards Redcliffe. A local policeman also observed the object but couldn’t give an explanation for the lights.Jodie spoke to her father about the weird lights and he mentioned he had observed a similar sighting when Jodie was ten-years-old from the back verandah. Steve was driving towards Brisbane CBD along Lutwyche Road in the morning when something caught his eye in the southern sky over the city. It took a second to realise he couldn’t identify it so he asked his wife, Vicki, in the passenger seat, “What do you reckon that is? Do you think that’s what I think it is?” Steve then looked away to see what the traffic was doing and looked back again and it was gone. Vicki noticed the object had turned and glinted and then disappeared into a cloud. It was shaped like a cigar with a rounded front and pointy rear with a trapezium shape on the underside. It was silvery white, angled about 15-degrees from the ground and travelling west. It was perhaps 20 metres in size.
