At Pierce, Ellenbrook, Vanessa’s son called her out to look at something in the sky. What she saw astounded her. “It was like a star, moving rapidly, taking only about two minutes to cross the sky. It was definitely not a plane. I see a lot of things, but the speed of this thing was way too fast and there were no flashing lights. I was looking south to southeast as it moved away. This object travelled over head with such a highly unusual speed but made no sound.” At about 8 pm, a big plane flew right through the same area. There was cloud about and the object was seen travelling behind the cloud cover. Dominic McNamara AUFORN NSW

Living at Martins Creek in the area bounding Maitland, Ken began seeing lights in the sky about four months prior to his report. At first he passed them off as helicopters but as the sightings grew, he noticed they did not move in the sky at all, not even against the background stars, for several hours at a time. “They stay in the same place, near the Williamtown Base about 30 kilometres away. No one wants to talk to me including the air base. I saw them again last week. They appear at about 10 o’clock in the sky looking over towards Duns Creek or maybe Paterson. I was looking to the southeast. The lights seemed to be flashing red and green and white. They make absolutely no noise.” Although Ken has included guidance systems for new incoming air traffic, he feels he has exhausted all other logical reasons for these lights to be hanging around like this. Both the witnesses contacted TUFOIC. A bright star like light was seen heading south by both witnesses from differing locations. However, a satellite check showed that the culprit was most likely the International Space Station which was visible over Southern Tasmania at the time of the reports. Keith Roberts TUFOIC

Mark was standing on his driveway in Warneet, looking at the sky, when a bright white object caught his eye. It was the size of a pea next to a star at about plane height, going in a straight line cross the sky. On the first night the object was going a bit faster than a plane. Near the end of the sighting it changed to red but at the same time it shrunk to a star size then vanished quickly in three or four seconds.

At midnight John went to his backyard to put out the rubbish bins for the morning collection. He noticed a stationary reddish amber ball of light above the trees to the northwest. He went inside to get his binoculars and when he used them he noticed a shaft of soft white light coming from the reddish ball. This happened twice. The white light beam was the same width along the length and nothing like a helicopter searchlight. John thought that was very odd. After about ten seconds the object seemed to be moving very slowly in the direction of his house. As it neared he could see a very faint white glow much wider than the ball of light either side of it, and two pulsing small white lights at the edge of the glowing area. The object moved very slowly toward him until he could see it was a very large black triangular craft. He saw that as it came near, there were actually three white lights at each point of the triangle and the reddish amber light was in the middle of the triangles underbelly. As it passed overhead he noticed that the reddish amber light seemed to shimmer like a heat haze in the desert, while the white lights faded in and out in a pulsing glow. John realised then it made no sound and was blocking out large areas of stars as it passed. It was unbelievably huge perhaps hundreds of feet long and wide. He felt a bit amazed because of its size, its very low speed and the fact it was gliding silently through the sky. As it passed, many dogs in the area were barking until it started to fly away. As it flew into the distance, many small sparkles of white light emanated from the rear edge for a few seconds before his view of the object was blocked by a neighbour’s tree. John was surprised that the local media failed to mention the sighting although many dogs in the area acknowledged it. John (55) is from an air force family.

The following night it was heading towards Cranbourne but way higher, half the size of a pea then it went into a cloud. Mark could see through the cloud so he saw it travel halfway into the cloud and then it vanished. He was expecting it to pop out the other side. It was only a small cloud and there was no noise whatsoever and no flashing lights so straight away he said it was definitely not a plane. His wife also witnessed the second sighting. It was a clear calm night.

Before going to bed, Mr Lee was outside his house catching the night air when he noticed two objects flying in parallel formation a few miles apart. Their flying paths did not resemble any commercial jets or satellites and were described as “a ghost trembling over the sky” which made him a little scared. He rushed into the house and grabbed his mobile, trying to get images and video recorded. It was a bit difficult to catch and unfortunately the video recording function did not work well at the time. He got three images which were too fuzzy to recognise. About two or three minutes later, the object on the right hand side suddenly disappeared followed by the other object. His action of pointing the mobile phone to the sky drew the attention of three people passing by who also partly witnessed the objects. The two objects were silent and their movement looked as if one was driving on a hot summer day on the highway and everything afar was wavy and blurry. The actual movement was like a snake crawling and only over a small area. The stationary orange light on each object was very soft and dimly lit, and seemed to have a touch of indigo colour within the light. The additional three witnesses did not appear excited or interested in the sighting, according to Mr Lee.
