Bidding farewell to Roma in the morning it will be onward to Winton.

Day 2. Roma - Winton - BLD

Winton a small country town where 'Waltzing Matilda' was written. I remember Winton for a rather bazaar UFO story: UFO blasts sky like 50,000 spotlights states the farmer 'I've seen a few satellites but I'd never seen anything as big as that one. We will pull up for night? marvel at the crystal clear night skies unaffected by intruding light and hope to spot the local Min Min lights around that area, yes Winton has its share of strange goings on. The AUFORN team experienced an amazing UFO sighting which was caught on film. Waltzing out of Winton on to Boulia,

Day 3. Winton - Boulia - BLD

The towns fame rests largely on its association with the mysterious Min Min lights. No one seems to know just exactly what the phenomenon is but there have been sightings now for nearly a century and even skeptics are convinced that the phenomenon really exists. We will stay at the Boulia Hotel for one night and spend a night camping out near the old Min Min hotel runes, for some night watching. The next day set out for Camooweal passing through MT ISA stopping for lunch, moving on to Camooweal for dinner, they have the best steaks this side of the black stump.

Day 4 - 5 Boulia - Camooweal - B 2.L 2.D

Ancestors of present-day Aborigines left proof of their long occupation in the thousands of artifacts littered across the countryside, Driving onward to Borroloola some travel during the night keeping an eye out for local UFO activity.

Day 6. Camooweal - Borroloola B D

Getting up early making sure not to miss a visit to the Camooweal Caves National Park located 20km from Camooweal in the dry Barkly Tableland. Borroloola Township is a remote fishing community beside the McArthur River. It is famed for unique history, characters and excellent fishing. Other attractions in the region are the Sir Edward Pellew Group Islands. The Borroloola Museum was once the old police station built in 1886. There is a collection of artifacts, documents and photographs that detail Borroloola's interesting past including the influence of the Macassan (Indonesian) contacts in the earlier part of last century. Moving on to Mataranka where you can get in touch with nature soak in the mineral springs.

Day 9 - 10 Mataranka - Renner Springs - B L1.D H

Mataranka is a small township and a large resort near the Stuart Highway in the famous 'never-never'. Mataranka is located on the Stuart Highway 1059 km north of Alice Springs, 423 km south of Darwin and 107 km south of Katherine. It was once unkindly described by the writer Sumner Locke Elliott as 'this lonely strip of barren and seemingly endless sandy waste of ant-hills and stunted trees - thick, hot red sand in the winter time and a sea of mud during the dreaded 'Wet''. After dinner night watching will commence

Day 11. Renner Springs - Wycliffe Well - B L D

We will pull up for and stop over night at Renner Springs a great place for night watching and fossicking for crystals, at night the land just sparkles with colour. Stopping at Tennant Creek

Day 12. Wycliffe Well - Devils Marbles - B L D

This is a great place Wycliffe Well and is renown for its regular UFO activities. Sightings are so common that if you stayed up all night looking you would be considered unlucky not to see anything, rather then lucky to see something. Newspaper clippings and images adorn the restaurant.

Wycliffe Well Holiday Park is world renown for its regular UFO sightings, recently ranked 5th for top reported UFO activity in the world.

Source, The Sun Herald, April 7, 2002

UFO sightings have been common from as far back as the days in World War II when servicemen who stayed at Wycliffe Well (was formally an Army Market Garden in those days growing vegetables and servicing the stock route), kept records in a book about some of the weird un-identified flying objects that they would encounter during the night, and even some records show they also saw things during the day!

Unfortunately over the years, the records of the WWII encounters, in an old bindered-book has been stolen, as it once lay proud on the front counter for all to see. We have since started a new UFO records book, which has UFO sightings dating early 1990' with the most recent as last week!

Day 13 - 14. Devils Marbels - Alice Springs - B 2.L 2.D

An overnight stay at “The Devil's Marbles” what a place and what a collection of gigantic rounded granite boulders, many of which are precariously balanced on top of one another. Scattered heaps of these 'marbles' occur across a wide, shallow valley. An area said to be fill with mysteries of alien's and a stargate to the future, with hundreds of UFO sightings and encounters spanning many years. Moving on to Alice Springs o meet up with Keith Douglass.

Keith Douglass is AUFORNs local Alice Springs UFO researcher he will take us to known UFO hot spots and as we all know the famous Pine Gap military base is near Alice Springs. Our stay in Alice will be a leisurely one with 2 days to explore Alice and places like Kings Canyon. We will night watch at Simpson's Gap taking in the views from Anzac Hill Lookout a great spot to see what fly's around at night. Then we will move on to

Day 18 -19 Uluru - Kata Tjuta - B 2.L 1.D

Australia's largest monolith is on today's horizon as we head towards Yulara, the tourist town established to cater for the thousands of visitors who make the pilgrimage to the centre of the continent to Uluru (Ayres Rock). Adventure to the Uluru - Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre and gather information about the area and its inhabitants. Explore the "base" of the rock. To climb or not to climb?
