The witness reports, "We were sitting outside having a game in the back yard on July, 2, 2001, we all quickly glanced up as something reflected into our eyes almost stopping our vision for a bit." There was a triangular (flat equilateral triangle) craft moving across the sky at 11:30 PM. We live next to an airfield but we didn’t know what to make of it. Therefore, we carried on playing our game. Fourteen minutes later it came back again, but going the other way. It would occasionally float across and then vanish again, but this time it was closer. We rung the airfield and they said that there was only something reflecting and they couldn’t make out what it was. We started to get very nervous and scared so we went inside and observed outside while watching TV. Nothing happened until about 17 minutes later when the TV went off, the phone started ringing and the fax came through with all types of weird stuff. I have the fax to prove it. Our cell phones went dead and we saw it again but this time it was hovering right over our house, it slowly picked up speed flew over some trees and we never saw it again. We live in the country so there are a few valleys it could have gone down and hidden. We saw a group of jets fly over the valley just as the craft vanished.

On 2.7.01 at about 5.45pm Maroochydore (Sunshine Coast) down at the beach, my mate and I were fishing when we noticed a light coming towards us. It was just above water level. No Noise. About 3/4 kms away.

About the size of a star and it just zoomed up and vanished. We have no idea what it was and have never seen anything like it. The speed at which it took off was amazing. Jan Stone AUFORN QLD

On Tuesday evening at around 6:15 pm Richard and his son were driving along Narellan Road travelling towards Campbelltown when they noticed an orange light in the sky. It appeared in the South-Eastern sky at about 15 degrees above the horizon. Richard stated they were at the highest point on the Road way when they first noticed it. The reportee stated that the orange light was lightly pulsating and that it couldn’t be attributed to cloud cover as it was a clear night. It seemed to be travelling at a similar height to that of the planes that pass over the Campbelltown area, but not on the same flight path. The orange light seemed to be heading toward Liverpool. No other lights were apparent and the light was not similar to that of a plane. When Richard pulled up at the stop lights at the intersection of Narellan, Blaxland and Gilcrest Avenue, which is a major intersection, the light could still be clearly seen, even in this lit up area. The reportees said the object looked at least three times bigger than Mars is at the present time. When Richard and his son drove off from the main intersection they pulled off to the side of the Road and got out to have a better look. The orange light projected the same intensity the whole time they were observing it until it faded from view due to distance. Richard thought this light first appeared over the area of Wollongong. This reportee noticed a roundish orange light in the sky and went out to his balcony for a closer look. His balcony unit faces North. He saw a large orange fireball coming from the North about the size of a five cent piece at arms length. It was heading towards the South. He went downstairs outside for a better look and took his binoculars. He then noticed it was heading North-East over the ocean. The reportee stated it then stopped over the ocean at about 35 to 40 degrees above the horizon for about 2-3 minutes and while doing so two objects dropped out of it. He said that these objects just dropped down to the horizon and disappeared after which the orange light seemed to divide into two and just disappeared. Five minutes later he saw exactly the same thing again and that the orange fireball was stationary again in the same position as the previous one. The reportee stated the orange fireball looked round, but seemed as if the top and bottom of it had been flattened out a little.

Some of his neighbours also saw the first sighting. Karen Burden AUFORN NSW

Andrew was in his front yard at around 9 pm when he noticed a white, slow pulsating light moving across the sky from South to North. He said he thought he could see what looked like a disc shaped object underneath the light. The reportee stated the light looked half the size of a 5 cent piece at arm’s length and was flying at least double the altitude of a plane on route. No sound could be heard, no unusual flying movements ie. zig zaging, speed were apparent. Karen Burden AUFORN NSW

Sue and her husband noticed 6 to 10 bright orange lights heading towards the North-East on Saturday Night (7/7/01) at around 10:30 pm. They went out to the front yard and watched them for around two minutes. The sky was clear at that time, the lights were not flickering or pulsating according to Sue. No Zig Zaging or strange movements were apparent. They were flying at a similar altitude to the planes that fly over head. The orange lights moved slowly and silently across the sky. The reportee was driving along the highway at around 10:20 pm on the 7/7/01 when he noticed 12 orange lights in the sky around 30 degrees above the horizon travelling in a North-Easterly direction. No noise, pulsating or flickering was apparent. Daryl stopped at a BP Service Station where a number of people had stopped to look at the orange lights. He said they were spread out in no particular formation and were flying about the same altitude as a plane. It was a clear night, with partial misty cloud cover here and there. He watched the event for around 20 minutes whilst at the service station. Karen Burden AUFORN NSW

Paul, his girlfriend and neighbours noticed 3 bright orange lights in the Western Sky travelling towards the city on Saturday Night at around 10 pm. They appeared to be the same distance apart. Paul stated they looked as if they were on fire. All those present were watching them for 5 minutes when the lights started accending and headed in 3 different directions. They were travelling according to Paul at the same height as a plane. No noise was apparent. It was a clear night and no planes were travelling in that area of the sky. Karen Burden AUFORN NSW

The reportee has been a farmer all his life thus involving night time tractor ploughing. He is familiar with the night sky and its contents, eg. planets, comets, satellites etc.. The time was 7.30 pm, sky dark and clear. The object appeared over the horizon & moved quickly from the NNE, came above them and then did an abrupt 90 degree turn and headed out to sea at approximately ESE at reasonably high speed. The object looked like the tail end of a jet engine, it was flaming orange in colour, but not a hoax ( Ross has seen many of those ). It was silent and about 1/2 inch long when close to the horizon, judged at arms length. Ross called his wife to see the object and she confirmed his description, it was visible for about four minutes. Derek and Veronica INFODIG

09.07.01 NORWOOD, TAS 2314hrs (NL/VIDEO)
(Source: TUFOIC Newsletter)
The Centre received some interesting images copied from a video of a flashing, moving light seen from a Norwood residence. The witness had been watching the tennis final from Wimbledon and had gone outside for a spell of fresh air.

Turning to go back inside he noticed a very bright star high in the sky moving towards the NNW horizon. What really caught the eye though was the flashing light from the star. The witness said you simply couldn’t miss it. It seemed to be cycling through a pattern of red, green, and blue colours. The witness was aware of stars that scintillate but this star was moving from the edge of the Milky Way past stars that remained static in colour. The witness went quickly inside to grab his Sony video camera and start shooting a picture of the star before it disappeared.

Physically he said it appeared in the sky bigger than Mars but very bright. It travelled from high in the sky (60/70 degrees) towards the horizon until lost from view behind a house on the top side of the street (25 degrees). The witness first watched the star for about a minute, taped it for a bit more than a minute, then tried to get his wife out to see the light by which time it had disappeared. It probably took 3 minutes to cover some 40 degrees of sky.

Investigation into possible satellites eliminated this explanation as none could be seen after 8pm that evening due to the earth’s rotation. The light did not appear to be commercial aircraft as Launceston Airport had closed and there were no overflights from Hobart. Checks on high altitude air traffic is not possible. However, a close look at the video reveals it is about 1 1/2 minutes long and in that time the star moves about 1 degree to the witnesses left. It is doubtful an aircraft would have remained in the same location.

Many observers overestimate the height of objects in the sky. When they view objects above about 30-40degrees, they tend to assume that it is much higher in the sky. Try pointing your arm up at an angle of 45 degrees. Without moving the angle of your arm, turn your head around so that is more side on to your arm - It will most likely be pointing at 25-30 degrees. Be aware of this when reporting, or investigating a sighting. Keith Roberts TUFOIC

The reportee was watching television on Sunday night, when a very bright light shining through the window, caught her eye. It was much bigger than a star and was moving slowly west. She watched the light for approximately a minute when she decided to call her mother and niece. The three of them ran outside where they continued to watch it for about 30 seconds. It was a cloudless night, no wind and a quarter moon. Kimberley heard no sound from the light as it continued to travel west. It then abruptly stopped and went out like a light bulb. She immediately felt she had to tell someone and called Telstra to inquire about a number for such things. The Telstra line made a remark that they had received a similar report from Goulburn and referred her to the 1800 number.

Kimberley’s mother informed her that a bright light had followed their car many years before, along the highway between Orange and Bathurst. Her mum had never mentioned it before Sunday night. Veronica INFODIG

Leon, a tow truck operator was making a delivery at about 3 a.m. driving through Kilcoy. There was no other traffic on the road at the time, so no witnesses etc.

In front of him at about 100m were two semi bright orange balls of light. They were travelling at the same height as the gum trees and appeared to be following each other parallel to the road.

Leon observed the lights for about 15 minutes and then got quite worried (or as he said ... he s$#t himself, as he was sure there was something strange about them. He realised they weren’t planes and decided to head for his boss’s house to stay the night (poor bugger).

He said that his mobile phone started to play up and another strange thing was that the distance he travelled took him less time than it should of. (wondering if he had condensed time episode). He also mentioned that his watch was fast and the clock had stopped in the car.

I didn’t pursue any issues re an encounter ‘cos this guy was freaked enough as it was.

He did mention when he spoke to his boss that other people had reported seeing the lights at Millenew (sic) on the eastern side of Kilcoy. It was reported in the Kilcoy Sentinel last week.

I asked him if there were any energy sources nearby, and he stated there are two big transformers nearby and that Tarong powerstation is a few miles away. AUFORN QLD

On July 28, 2001, Brian Richard’s phone rang off the hook for two hours as scores of witnesses reported seeing five bright orange lights travel slowly over Waikiki and Warnboro, south of Perth at 8:00pm. They headed south with one in front. Three were in a straight horizontal line. The lights seemed to pulse in unison and faded out beyond Warnboro. They were observed for some 15 minutes. At 8:30pm a single orange light appeared from the north and performed a series of aerial maneuvers, zigzagging about and moving up and down, side to side before fading out. At 9:10pm two more appeared traveling southeast. One of the callers related his dog was barking excessively and running around. This doesn’t sound like pranksters setting off hot air balloons made from orange garbage bags and paraffin-wax firelighters suspended underneath. Anne and Roger were travelling along Jingellic Road at 8:31 pm 29/07/01. This road for the most part runs alongside the Murray River, this area is located on the NSW/Victorian border. They were travelling from East to West towards Holbrook when they noticed a bright white light in the Southern Sky over the National Park. Roger and Anne estimated it was above 6,000 feet off the ground when they first noticed it and was moving at a 45 degree angle towards the ground. Roger stated it was going faster than a comet. The object apparently turned red, then exploded. It then turned green, then a beautiful bright blue and then disappeared or went out. What is interesting is the statement that it did not have a tail or leave a trail at all.

Anne who was driving was temporarily vision impaired during the explosion, her vision was dim, she could not see her own headlight beams in front of her. Anne stated the following day that Helicopters were seen flying near the area the following morning, but states she has seen helicopters flying near the area before, so it could be a coincidence.

Both of them thought they should report it. They stated they thought there may be debris from it and that Investigators may be able to gain access via the ‘Human Hovel Walking Track’, which runs along the side of the mountain. Karen Burden AUFORN NSW

Roseena was outside in the garden with her husband when she noticed an object travelling east-west across the sky say from 2 o’clock down to 10 o’clock.

The object was green with what appeared to be a white short tail.

The object appeared to travelling at the speed of a falling star and lasted a few seconds, but fell behind the clouds.

Roseena stated that she had seen the object previously three years ago on the road to Redland Bay, Brisbane.

Roseena herself is clairvoyant and has many incidences that she does not understand, including seeing a grey in her bedroom. Her daughter has also awakened from a weird ‘dream’ in which she was grabbed by the wrist and woken up with physical bruising on her wrists that she can’t explain.

I left my number with Roseena as she wanted to discuss some things further without her husband being present, so we might meet for a coffee etc.

Source: AUFORN ONLINE UFO Report Form
Witness: Miss. Jacki x
Number of witnesses present: 3
Sighting Duration: 1st 5 minutes 2nd 1 minute.
Occupation: Student year 11

Observation: #1 - It was about 1997 and my mum, younger sister and I were on a bus on the way to see my dad in Mount Gambier. My younger sister fell asleep and my mum pointed out the window for me to see. I looked to where she was pointing and there was a shape in the sky that kept flashing on and off. It was kind of like a football but a bit more round. My mum and I knew it wasn't a plane or weather balloon type thing.

#2 - In about mid 2001 and my eldest brother had brought his girlfriend over and her two sons. My sister, my brother's two boys and I were on the trampoline playing at night; about 8PM. We layed down on the trampoline to look at the sky for a second while we rested our legs. We saw what looked like stars but didn't pay much attention before we started jumping again. A few minutes later we jumped off trampoline to play with the soccor ball. We looked up at the sky again and the 'stars' were all clustered together and moving around quickly, some were blinking and some weren't. I felt a bit weird for some reason, like I had fuzzy stuff in my stomach (only way to describe it). We got scared when we saw the 'stars' doing that because we had never seen that before. We ran under the patio to where the adults were and refused to go back out and play.

Description: #1 - The object I saw was blinking on and off.

#2 - The 'stars' were moving together in a cluster (almost all of the stars we could see in the sky) and some were blinking. They were moving quickly and were silent.

Location: #1 - On a bus to Mount Gambier, SA

#2 - Salisbury, SA
Other Witnesses: I don't know their contact details.
Apparent Size Other: #1 looked about dinner plate size
Actual Size: #1 - Maybe about the size of a house but I don't know.

#2 - I'm not sure, they looked like stars.
Altitude: #1 - About as high as a 20 storey building I would say.

#2 - A long ways up, a few kilometeres at least.
Object Origin: #1 - The object was moving fairly quickly just in the middle of the sky.

#2 - The 'stars' were from all parts of the sky and 'collected' in the middle of where we could see.

Object Destination: I did not see any of the objects dissapear as I looked/ran away because I was scared.

Moon Visible: I didn't see the moon on either occasion but I wasn't paying attention to the moon.

Moon Size Comparison:
Planets Visible: #1 - There were a few stars in the sky but not many.

#2 - There were a few stars that didn't move.
Weather Visibility: Clear Weather Comments: This is relevant to both incidents.
Effects Physical: #1 - No.

#2 - Yes. I felt like there was something 'fuzzy' in my stomach.
Effects Psychological: No. Not in either case.
Effects Other: Not that I remember.
Effects Other Witnesses: Not that I am aware of, but we did not talk
about it.
Other Experiences: Only the two I have described above.
