On the 11th March Marie and her boyfriend (2 witnesses) we driving along Hayes Avenue in Camira going up a hill when her boyfriend first noticed a red light in the sky. This was at approx 6.15-6.20pm. it was on twilight so there was still plenty of light in the sky. Once he pointed it out she stopped the car to have a better look. (Marie was driving a convertible). The red light was very clear, it was a solid light no pulsating and definitely no noise. It was fairly close to both witnesses. At arms length the red ball of light was the size of a fingernail.

Both of them actually observed the object moving fairly quickly (approx 10 times faster than an aircraft would in this area according to the witnesses) and the light was moving across the sky back and forth and doing sharp quick right angle turns. Both Marie and her boyfriend observed this phenomenon for approximately 20 minutes. Our 1800 AUFORN hotline was the first call they made right after the sighting. At the end of the sighting the light just flew away and disappeared. Marie has never seen anything like this before and isn’t really “into this kind of stuff but this was kind of freaky and I had no idea what I was looking at”. Daniel Sims AUFORN QLD

The witness was on the balcony of a house in Sydney Street, New Farm, having a cigarette around 2.30 am, when he looked to the southeast and saw two bright orange lights. They were stationary at first, one higher than the other, and then the lower one began to move at a very slow rate. A cloud passed over them and when it passed the lights were gone.

16.03.07 CAMP MOUNTAIN, QLD 2145hrs (NL)
On 16 March 2007 in Camp Mountain, David and his wife were watching TV around 9.45 pm when his wife observed, a very bright stationary orange light in the sky through the front window. She watched it for a few minutes then asked David to go outside with her to see it. The light was stationary in the northwestern sky about 20-degrees above the horizon. After a minute or so the light suddenly brightened and began to move towards them, growing brighter and revealing more lights on the underside as it became closer. The lights were red, green and orange and some were flashing. The object passed almost directly overhead. The outline was very dim and roughly circular but discernable from the lights on it. It moved steadily in a straight line but more slowly than a jet. Bright flashes of orange could still be seen through the tall trees as it disappeared into the southeast, about two flashes per second. Smaller red and green lights also flashed beneath the craft, similar to navigation lights.

David said: “Had it not been for the object having remained completely stationary in the sky for several minutes before suddenly beginning to move towards us, I may have thought it was some conventional aircraft, although the number and brightness of the lights was far in excess of the normal aircraft navigation lights. There is an aircraft flight path along the track it followed, but this was not like any aircraft I have seen before.”

Anton was about to go to bed, but went onto his third floor balcony for one last cigarette when he noticed many objects passing overhead in groups of five or six.  The sky was clear with very little wind and the objects didn’t make any sound. The objects were mainly orange or red, looking like moving stars. They were about 100 metres overhead, and the witness described them as resembling lava lamps. He thought they were no larger than one metre in diameter. The sighting lasted over ten minutes. George Simpson AUFORN VIC
